Recipe: easy and healthy chocolate balls
Now 2020 has started and I want to get a bit more fit and healthy before summer. This means less candy and (unnatural) sugars, more veggies and making lots of healthy recipes. So I’ve made some healthy chocolate balls last week with ingredients I already had at home. They turned out amazing and I have to share the recipe with you guys!
What you need (+/- 12 big balls):
- 250g dates
- 2tbsp raw cacao
- 2tbsp coconut oil
- 1 espresso coffee
- 2tbsp peanut butter
- +/- 50-100g coconut grater + some extra (= kokosrasp for the Dutchies)
How to make it:
Make a cup of espresso coffee. Put the dates, cacao, peanut butter, espresso and coconut oil together in a kitchen machine and blend them until you will have a smooth substance. It might even become a big ball, but no problem if it’s not sticky enough yet. Add coconut grater until the substance is sticky enough to form balls with the ‘dough’. Make small or big balls and put them on a plate. TIP: make your hands wet before you roll each ball, they will not stick to your hand palms this way. Put some extra coconut grater on a plate and roll each ball in it until they look pretty. Put the chocolate balls in the fridge for at least 30 minutes and these healthy chocolate balls are ready to eat! It’s the perfect snack with a cup of tea or coffee!
Want to make this for (small) kids too? Replace the coffee with 50ml of water.
