Recipe: Healthy Chocolate Banana Bread
Banana bread is one of my favorite snacks. Besides that it is usually super easy and fast to make, you can variate a lot with it. For example make a healthy chocolate banana bread! Because you can make it super tasty without sugar, I always make it without it. The trick of making a super sweet banana bread is using super ripe, almost brown, bananas. Another thing you could add is some honey or syrup like agave or maple. Or try to put some dates in the batter.
This banana bread contains only natural ingredients. The base is easy: bananas, eggs and (oat) flour. The rest is up to you! When I posted some photos of my home made healthy chocolate banana bread I have gotten many requests to share the recipe. So here it comes!
175g oat flour
25g cocoa powder
40g coconut oil
40g coconut grater
50g dark chocolate (chips)
50g nuts of choice (or mixed)
1tbsp cookie (speculoos) spices or cinnamon
1tsp baking powder
pinch of salt

HOW TO MAKE HEALTHY CHOCOLATE BANANA BREAD:
Time needed: 1 hour.
- Preheat oven 175 degrees and cover the bread form with baking paper
- Mash the bananas with in a blender
- Add the eggs one by one
- Mix all dry ingredients and add to the batter
flour, cocoa powder, chocolate, nuts, baking powder, coconut grater and salt
- Melt the coconut oil and add to the batter
- Bake in 40-45 minutes on 175 degrees
As I had a lot of super ripe bananas I have made two chocolate banana breads at once. Of course, for only being two people in the house, it is a lot. However, the bread is super easy to freeze in and save for later. This way we will not spill any food and we can enjoy the healthy chocolate banana bread a little bit longer!
